About the Film

Behind every door, a stranger.

The miserable moan of a new neighbor penetrates the walls of Elma and Marie's apartment. Despite their protests, the stranger inexplicably insists on bellowing his wail of lament all through the night.

In a desperate attempt to silence him, Elma and Marie embark on an odyssey through their apartment building to search for allies in their fellow neighbors. Unfortunately, each new apartment they enter is only inhabited by increasingly lonely, odd and possibly dangerous people.

Whether it be a lonely woman, dammed to watch the most wretched footage imaginable, or an old friend starting a cult in his living room, or a young woman feigning elderly infirmity so as to be treated with attentive care, the strangers Elma and Marie encounter on their journey all possess the same strangeness, desperation, and grief which haunts the lives of our heroes, Elma and Marie.
